Aflaj Al Foah will bring a new, fully integrated community to Al Ain, designed according to the latest thinking on social-value urbanism. The development combines traditional homes for more than 5,000 families with culturally inspired entertainment and retail venues, a resort, a date palm museum and a network of aflaj, all cradled within Al Foah’s expansive date farm. Neighborhoods will be graced with courtyard homes that honor privacy and family space. A network of pedestrian-only sikak and barahat will allow people of all ages to connect with nearby neighborhood centers, anchored around community mosques, which contain schools, community rooms, playgrounds, retail and services. Gathering spaces are screened and protected from the distractions of the urban tapestry that surrounds them. The project will fulfill its environmental responsibility by leaving a zero-carbon-footprint, and fulfill its social responsibility by channeling profits to eliminate the government’s date subsidy and increase farmers’ incomes. Modern yet traditional, luxurious yet responsible, Aflaj Al Foah celebrates past and present, and heralds in Al Ain’s bright future.
