The first phase of the City Market of Los Angeles development, located within the L.A. Fashion District, includes the renovation of existing warehouses for future restaurants, bars and office space. The existing loading docks will be reused for exterior dining and terrace seating that fronts onto the flexible, central piazza, which will host programmed events including movies, art displays and markets. Cracks in the existing asphalt and concrete paving will be excavated to provide areas for drought tolerant planting, stormwater infiltration and breaking up the large paved piazza into separate rooms for outdoor dining.
