OLIN is proud to announce the completion of its first Climate Action Plan! An initiative of OLIN Labs, OLIN’s research practice, the plan has emerged from several years of internal office engagement and industry research. The plan is a framework that outlines our proactive stance on incorporating climate conscious design and operational practices into our work, from client relationships to site selection, design materials, performance, and office operations. It is a living document that we will build on year after year.

In September of 2024, OLIN joined 26 CEOs representing the world’s largest and most influential landscape architecture firms in committing to achieve the goals laid out in the American Society of Landscape Architects Climate Action Plan, OLIN’s Climate Action Plan is a critical tool to track progress and stay accountable to these shared goals.

OLIN’s Climate Action Plan addresses the practical realities of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through design materials, the built environment, and business operations. While OLIN’s Climate Action Plan focuses strongly on decreasing emitted and embodied carbon and increasing carbon sequestration, it also includes the fundamental drivers of our practice, and the areas where climate action goes far beyond carbon accounting and waste reduction. The OLIN Climate Action Plan is a critical effort to better serve our communities and the living world. It holistically addresses carbon mitigation, conserves biodiversity, and responds to the burdens of our overheated cities.
