Yale University’s Franklin and Murray Colleges

Two OLIN-designed projects have been recognized by the Society for College and University Planning’s 2018 Excellence Awards: Yale University’s Franklin and Murray Colleges and the University of Virginia’s Ruth Caplin Theater. Both projects were honored with a 2018 Excellence in Architecture award, which recognizes exemplary planning, design, and implementation efforts of firms and institutions nationwide. In the “New Building” category, jurors awarded Yale’s new residential colleges to receive the highest honor for its “sizable, meaningful, thoughtful, and well-executed” design. UVA’s Caplin Theater received honorable mention in the “Building Additions or Adaptive Reuse” category, with positive remarks regarding its thoughtful siting and transformation of the quad.
