ResilienCity Park is one of the City of Hoboken’s designated green spaces that will store stormwater and reduce flooding in the area. The 5.4-acre park currently sits atop a contaminated plot of land in a deindustrializing neighborhood that was capped and sold to the city. OLIN’s design for the resiliency park will address the City’s need for a green infrastructure plan and underground detention system while also providing the community with active and passive recreational space. The ultimate goal for the site will be to store at least 1 million gallons of stormwater to aid in the North Hudson Sewer Authority’s consent decree and reduce the effects of frequent flash flooding. Once complete, the ResilienCity Park will be the city’s largest park and feature the first municipal garage in western Hoboken.
