Associate
Janelle Johnson is a professional landscape architect with over 15 years of experience in planning, design, and research. A process-driven project manager, she delights in every stage of design, development, and documentation. Janelle especially excels in cross-discipline collaboration and has extensive experience leading interdisciplinary teams through the successful completion of complex, transformative spaces. Notable projects include Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis, Imagine Iowa Great Lakes in Okoboji, Lyllye Reynolds- Parker Black Cultural Center in Eugene, Lewis Cubitt Square in London, Franklin Park Vision and Transformation Plan, and the Wild Mile Framework Plan.
As an Associate at OLIN, Janelle is currently managing cultural, healthcare and master planning projects, across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. Working both domestically and internationally, she is inspired by the opportunity to create places that foster community, democratize space, and connect people to the outdoors, using historical and cultural cues to guide her design sensibility. Beyond professional practice, Janelle serves on the Board of the Black Landscape Architects Network and the Professional Advisory Council for Purdue University's Landscape Architecture program.
