An event center serving the Louisville region, The Vista marks the first phase of the 430-acre Origin Park to be completed. Building on OLIN’s 2019 master plan for the park, we worked closely with the River Heritage Conservancy and Joseph & Joseph Architects to site the event center building and ground it in the park landscape. Visitors approach The Vista through a native meadow restoration along pedestrian pathways and a loop drive that preserves the site’s existing trees and unobtrusively integrates the facility’s required parking. The building is framed by perennial gardens and pathways that culminate in the oak terrace and adjacent lawn overlooking the Ohio River. The terrace design evokes the flow and geology of the river while celebrating the regional tradition of dry-stacked limestone walls. The Vista opened in May 2026 and has already become a favorite spot for weddings, retreats, and other events.
